White collar defense counsel Jim Roberts was quoted in the Financial Times analyzing the indictment of Donald Trump. Roberts stated that DA Bragg’s suggestion of multiple theories justifying the elevation of the charges from misdemeanors to felonies “[s]uggest[ed] a lack of a simple, cohesive, and persuasive theory of the prosecution — something they will need to be able to articulate to convince a jury.” He added that “[g]iven the stakes, DA Bragg cannot afford to lose this case.”
