Firm co-founder Richard H. Dolan represented the majority owners of the Flatiron Building as plaintiffs in their successful effort to partition and sell the building at a public auction held on March 22, 2023, after disputes with the minority owner stymied their efforts to redevelop and modernize the property. The auction resulted in a high bid of $190 million for the iconic New York landmark. Jeff Gural, who participated in the bidding on behalf of the majority owners during the auction, noted that they had valued the building at $120 million. The Firm has represented many real estate developers and investors in every facet of real estate litigation, including the use of a partition action to assemble buildable lots or, as with the Flatiron Building, to resolve intractable disputes with co-owners.
