Schlam Stone & Dolan is representing Linda Mangano with respect to her appeal of her conviction in the U.S. District Court, the Eastern District of New York. We are also taking an emergency appeal to the Second Circuit seeking to overturn the District Court’s denial of bail pending appeal. The following article discusses the arguments we made as to why denying her bail pending appeal was patently unfair. Most significantly, as she only received a fifteen-month sentence, she will be denied her appellate rights if forced to begin serving her sentence since the appeal process will be longer than the length of her sentence.
