Michael's practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation, white-collar criminal and regulatory defense, securities litigation, and mergers and acquisitions litigation. He litigates in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels and advises clients across a broad range of industries, including cryptocurrency, private equity, banking, real estate, and media. Michael also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in criminal, immigration, and employment matters.

  • Represent client in breach of contract and conversion action involving multi-million-dollar cryptocurrency exchange and Bitcoin-mining equipment;
  • Defended multinational investment bank in the dismissal of a Section 10b-5 securities fraud suit brought in the Southern District of New York by an investor who opted out of a multi-million dollar class action settlement;
  • Obtained dismissal on behalf of hedge fund ofmulti-billion dollar lawsuit brought by beneficiaries of a state pension fund alleging breach of trust and fiduciary duties;
  • Represented high net worth individuals in investigations by the Department of Justice and SEC arising out of claims of insider trading;
  • Represented hedge fund in regulatory proceedings arising out of claims of insider trading;
  • Secured dismissal of claims filed against real estate investment trust and its board of directors for alleged proxy statement misrepresentations and omissions in connection with a $1.4 billion acquisition;
  • Represented major real estate developer in contract dispute with a U.S. multinational hospitality company;
  • Represented major real estate developer in the defense of a putative class action;
  • Defended major pharmaceutical company in antitrust action;
  • Represented global financial institution in an SEC investigation;
  • Defended private equity firm in breach of contract dispute concerning a “material adverse change” clause in connection with a proposed $550 million acquisition.
