James C. Sherwood
Partner James C. Sherwood has been a member of the Firm since July 1993.
He had previously been a partner in Kostelanetz Ritholz Tigue & Fink. Following graduation from Yale College, Mr. Sherwood taught for two years at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1977, he graduated from Columbia University Law School as a Stone Scholar, and from 1977 to 1982, he was associated with Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine. He focuses on white-collar criminal defense, tax litigation and complex commercial litigation. Representative clients have included Unisys Corp., in qui tam litigation; Sam Antar, the founder of Crazy Eddie, in securities-related class actions; and The Drifters. He is a member of the New York Bar, as well as the Bars of a number of Federal courts around the country, including the Tax Court.
Mr. Sherwood is a member of the tax and criminal law committees of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.
